Forests Release More CO2!

The second piece of research in recent months indicates that northern forests are not doing the work needed against global warming.

Professor Hank Margolis of Laval University, published yesterday in the journal Nature, indicates that "as we move into autumn, the forests tend to emit carbon because the days get shorter".

"...on average, autumn has the edge - which could eventually cancel out the carbon absorbed by forests in the summer."  (CP)

If forests - and the sponsorship of forests - can't fight global warming, then a new approach is needed.  The only way to fight climate change is to remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere, and prevent them from being emitted into the atmosphere in the first place.  CO2Xchange promotes exactly this approach via agricultural change.  (CP)
